BLS PPI PCU324121324121 (Apr 2026) applied to USGS historical base price for asphalt paving materials. HMA plant-gate price nationally $75–115/ton; delivered to job site adds $10–20/ton. Mid-estimate $100/ton. Range reflects crude-oil-linked asphalt binder component (~60% of HMA cost by weight) and regional plant competition. Mix-type grade tiers (standard/premium/warm-mix) shown on the asphalt cost calculator are an even 3-way split of this $75-130 range — no independent per-grade source exists. Series cadence: monthly. The dollar range is re-derived whenever the underlying index moves more than 5% from the derivation point.
